Oxfordshire Learning Disability NHS Trust provides a range of health care and social support services for people living in Oxfordshire who have a learning disability, and for their families/carers.
Most of the people who use the Trust's services are adults who have moderate to severe learning disabilities. However, adults with milder disabilities are supported as well and there is a small specialist service for children.
The Trust headquarters are based in Headington but the services are provided across the whole county. There are 3 community teams (CPTLDs) providing specialist advice and support to people who have a learning disability and to their carers in the community.
In-patient services for people who have a learning disability and challenging behaviour/mental health needs are provided in 4 specialist units, including a Step Down service to support people who are ready to move back into the community. There is also an Assertive Outreach Team to help people in the community who need extra support.
The Trust also provides a home support service for over 200 people who have a learning disability and live in their own homes, day services (activity support) and two small respite services. There is also a volunteering service.
Children's services comprise a small specialist respite unit for children who have a learning disability and complex health needs, and a small Child and Adolescent Team, supporting children who have a learning disability and challenging behaviour/mental health needs in the community.
